Do

  1. Brush and rinse your teeth after all meals and snacks; floss every night.
  2. Swish with fluoride rinse every night after brushing
  3. Use wax to cover any part of the braces which may irritate your lips, cheeks, or gums. If soreness persists, call the office.
  4. If your braces break or become loose than contact the office immediately.
  5. Soft foods and Aspirin or Tylenol can relieve any discomfort after an adjustment.

  1. Do not play with wires or other parts of your braces. Keep fingers, pencils, etc. out of your mouth.
  2. Do not drink soda or other carbonated drinks.
  3. Do not chew gum.
  4. Do not eat sticky or hard candy, hard pretzels, or corn-on-the-cob.
  5. Do not chew meat off the bones – cut it off.
  6. Do not chew ice cubes.
  7. Do not use whitening toothpaste.
